The Building Regulations - Compliance and Guidance

What are building regulations?

Building Regulations ensure that new buildings, conversions, renovations and extensions in both the domestic and commercial realms are going to be safe, healthy and high performing.

Detailed regulations cover specific topics including: structural integrity, fire protection, accessibility, energy performance, acoustic performance, protection against falls, electrical and gas safety. They also lay standards for drainage, ventilation, protection against the ingress of water and protection against contamination including methane and radon gas.

The Building Regulations are defined by the English and Welsh Governments and have accompanying guidance documentation to help architects, builders and all trades people to complete jobs to a professional and safe standard.

Ashby Energy Assessors LTD provide consultation, compliance and guidance services on Building Regulations:

Services We Provide

A Condensation Risk Analysis evaluates the likelihood of interstitial condensation in your roof or wall construction.
Sound insulation is a measure of the sound stopped by a barrier such as a partition wall. The sound reduction index is measured onsite using sound level meters.

Part F - Ventilation

An extract flow test measures air flow rates of mechanical ventilation systems, such as extractor fans and oven hoods.

The 'Water efficiency calculator for new dwellings' is the Government's national calculation methodology for assessing water efficiency in new dwellings in support of The Code for Sustainable Homes and the Building Regulations.
