Thermal Bridging Psi Value Calculations

Thermal Bridging PSI Value Calculations

Thermal Bridging & PSI Value Calculations

Similar to U-Value which is a measure of heat loss through a square meter of thermal element such as a wall, the Psi instead is heat loss measured through the junction of two heat loss elements. Such as the corner between an external wall and ground floor element.

Having the Psi value calculation can give a significant boost in a developments rated CO2 emissions and providing the junction details are followed, will result in a highly energy efficient building.

To make these calculations we would require any details and drawings on the makeup of the building and the specific details of the materials used. This will allow us to make the calculations and help a development either gain compliance or improve the EPC.

The Psi and U values will be used in SAP assessment to ensure the energy performance model is accurate and will ensure building regulations compliance.

Please get in touch if you are struggling with the SAP, or you would like to improve the quality of your new build EPC. We can guide you through the process and ensure that you stand the best chance of compliance and to improve on your SAP.
